By establishing and promoting high expectations for all students, an educational leader helps create and implement a rigorous and coherent instructional program, the foundation of which is secured by a culture of trust, learning and excellence.

By managing the structural and operational aspects of the school, an educational leader enhances instructional time, ensuring students receive the resources needed to access the curricular program.

An educational leader cultivates quality relationships with community members to improve the school's instructional environment; mobilizing resources and being culturally responsive to the diverse needs of students and school community members.

An educational leader champions the values of democracy, equity and diversity in the school and acts with the highest ethical behavior; creating and maintaining an inclusive and rigorous educational environment that meets the needs of every student.

An educational leader understands and can assess current events in the political environment that affect student learning and well-being and can respond effectively while simultaneously advocating for what's best for students and families in the community.
